Custom Bathroom Vanities
Vanities sized to the room you have rather than the one the stock catalogue assumes, built in solid birch plywood, which is the part that matters in a Florida bathroom.
The humidity argument, specifically
A bathroom is the hardest environment in a Florida house for cabinetry. The room goes from ambient to saturated twice a day, the cabinet sits directly under a plumbing connection, and the exhaust fan is frequently undersized for the room. A particleboard or MDF vanity box in that environment has a predictable life: the bottom panel swells first, the toe kick goes soft, and the carcass loses its square.
Solid birch plywood does not behave that way. The cross-laminated structure is dimensionally far more stable through humidity cycling, and a plywood box that takes a supply-line drip can usually be dried out and kept. That is the single biggest reason to build a vanity custom rather than buy one, not the look, the substrate.
Sizing, and why stock rarely fits
Stock vanities come in 24, 30, 36, 48 and 60 inches. Bathrooms do not. The common outcomes are a vanity that leaves an awkward gap against the wall, or one that forces the door swing into the drawer bank. Building custom means the cabinet runs wall to wall if that is what the room wants, the drawer bank clears the door, and the plumbing is designed around rather than cut around after the fact.
Floating vanities are increasingly requested and they genuinely make a small Tampa powder room read larger, but they need blocking in the wall, which is a framing decision, not a cabinet decision. Raise it at the measurement and we will coordinate it with your GC before the wall closes.
Drawers around plumbing
The usual complaint about vanity drawers is that the P-trap eats the useful depth. We build U-shaped and notched drawer boxes that wrap the trap, which recovers most of that volume without putting a seam anywhere water collects. Combined with full-extension slides, you get a drawer whose back is actually reachable.
