Commercial
Reception Desks & Lobby Millwork
CNC-shaped reception desks, feature walls and parametric slatted forms for lobbies, offices and hospitality spaces, designed to anchor the room and built to your finish schedule.
The piece everyone sees first
A reception desk is the one element in a commercial interior that every visitor approaches directly and stands at for a minute or more. It gets looked at closely, which means the tolerances have to be tighter than they do on casework nobody inspects from eighteen inches away.
Curved and parametric forms (stacked slat profiles, faceted fronts, flowing transaction tops) are where CNC fabrication earns its place. Each slat in a parametric form is a slightly different shape, and cutting those by hand produces visible drift. Cut on the machine from the model, they stack into the surface the designer drew.
Function behind the front
Behind the public face, a reception desk is a workstation: it needs power and data management, a transaction height that meets accessibility requirements, monitor and keyboard positions that work for a person sitting there all day, and storage that keeps the surface clear. We detail the back side as carefully as the front, which is the part that gets skipped when a desk is built as a sculpture.
Lobby millwork as a package
Most reception projects extend past the desk. A feature wall behind it, slatted ceiling elements, wayfinding surrounds, matching conference-room casework. Having one shop carry the finish and the detailing across all of it is what makes a lobby read as designed rather than assembled from separate bids.
